"“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8, NIV)
God’s love is unlike any other. He didn’t wait for us to be perfect, righteous, or worthy—He loved us at our worst. While we were still sinners, broken and rebellious, Christ willingly laid down His life for us. His sacrifice on the cross wasn’t based on any- thing we did to deserve it; it was purely out of His deep, unchanging love.
Lent is a time to reflect on this incredible truth. We often struggle with feelings of unworthiness, yet the cross reminds us that God’s love is not based on our goodness but on His grace. Christ died for us not because we were deserving, but because He wanted to redeem us. Knowing this, how should we respond? We are called to receive His love fully, live in gratitude, and extend that same love to others.
Challenge: How does knowing Christ died for you, even in your sin, change the way you live today?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for loving me even when I was undeserving. Help me to live in response to Your grace, sharing Your love with others just as You have loved
me. Amen."
