"“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21, NIV)
Jesus makes it clear that following Him is more than just words—it requires action. Calling Him “Lord” means surrendering to His authority and living in obedience to God’s will. True disciples don’t just say they love God; they demonstrate it through their choices, priorities, and lifestyle.
It can be easy to go through the motions of faith—attending church, praying, or reading Scripture—while still holding back areas of our lives from God’s control. But Jesus calls us to full commitment, to seek and follow God’s will in every aspect of our lives. Lent is a time to reflect on whether we are truly living as disciples, not just in words but in action.
Challenge: In what areas of your life is God calling you to deeper obedience? Are you truly seeking and following His will?
Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to just say I follow You—I want to live in obedience to Your will. Show me where I need to surrender and guide me to walk in Your truth.
Amen."
