"“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedi- ent to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:8, NIV)

Jesus’ obedience was not partial or conditional—it was complete. He humbled Himself, setting aside His divine rights, and submitted fully to the Father’s will, even when it led to suffering and death. His sacrifice was the ultimate act of love, showing us that true obedience requires surrender, trust, and humility.

Lent is a time to reflect on Christ’s obedience and examine our own hearts. Are we willing to follow God’s will, even when it is difficult? Obedience may mean forgiving someone who has hurt us, stepping out in faith, or letting go of control. Just as Jesus submitted Himself fully to the Father, we are called to do the same in our daily lives.

Challenge: How can you obey Him today? What is one step you can take to follow God’s will more faithfully?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Jesus’ perfect obedience, even to the point of death. Help me to follow His example and obey You fully in every area of my life. Give me the courage to trust Your plan and walk in faith. Amen."
