"“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perse- verance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposi- tion from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Hebrews 12:1–3, NIV)
Life’s trials can be exhausting, tempting us to give up or lose hope. But the writer of Hebrews reminds us to fix our eyes on Jesus. He endured suffering, rejection, and the cross, yet He never lost sight of God’s purpose. Because of His victory, we can find strength to press on.
During Lent, we are called to let go of distractions, sins, and fears that weigh us down. Jesus is our example and our source of strength. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide you through every trial.
Challenge: What distractions do you need to remove to focus more on Jesus?
Prayer: Lord, help me to fix my eyes on You. Strengthen my heart and guide me through every trial. Amen."
