“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:16–18, NIV)

Life brings trials that can feel overwhelming— pain, loss, disappointment. But Paul reminds us that our suffering is temporary compared to the eternal glory that awaits us. Even in hardship, God is at work, renewing us from within. Our struggles are not meaningless; they shape us, deepen our faith, and prepare us for something far greater.

During Lent, we are reminded to shift our focus from earthly struggles to the eternal hope found in Christ. No matter what you face today, God’s promises remain. Fix your eyes on Him, and trust that His glory will outshine every trial.

What burdens do you need to surrender to God, trusting in His eternal plan?

Prayer: Lord, in my struggles, help me to see beyond the temporary pain and trust in Your eternal glory. Renew my heart and strengthen my faith. Amen.
