“He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:3–5, NIV)

Jesus understands suffering. He was rejected, beaten, and crucified— bearing the weight of our sin and pain. He willingly took our burdens so that we could be healed and restored. His suffering was not in vain; it was the ultimate act of love.

Lent is a time to bring our pain, struggles, and wounds to the foot of the cross. Jesus does not ignore our suffering— He carries it. Whatever pain you are holding onto— grief, fear, shame, or disappointment— He invites you to surrender it to Him.

Challenge: What suffering are you holding onto that you can surrender to Jesus today?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for bearing our pain and suffering. Help me to surrender my burdens to You and find peace in Your healing love. Amen.
